Dunwoody has a rich past dating back to the 1830s. Many of the original buildings are still intact, but despite the city’s interesting history, it was only incorporated in 2008. Dunwoody offers the Perimeter Mall, a major shopping destination with around 150 shops and services. A good portion of area business is done in Perimeter Center, located in and around Perimeter Mall. Perimeter Center employs hundreds of thousands of people and is known for being Atlanta‘s largest centers of employment.

Other neighborhoods include Dunwoody Village, where you’ll find historic buildings and charming architecture, and Georgetown, a very walkable area. Plenty more homes in Dunwoody are available in Tilly Mill, Williamsburg, and Winters Chapel. Do not miss the Dunwoody Village which is the historic heart of the community. It’s located at Chamblee-Dunwoody Road and Mt Vernon Highway intersection and offers a shopping experience full of unique boutiques.

Tilly Mill holds landmarks like the campus of Georgia Perimeter College and Brook Run Park that offers wooded trails, a dog park, children’s play area, Veterans Memorial and community garden. Tilly Mill was named after the pioneering Tilly family, who owned a farm and mill on land bisected by Tilly Mill Road.

One of the most walkable areas around homes in Dunwoody is Georgetown. This residential and retail area was developed in the early 1960s and can be found via I-285 and the Chamblee city limits.
