It all starts at historic Marietta Square. Glover Park and its picturesque gazebo plus the adjacent buildings make for an exciting meeting point. Before Atlanta and Chattanooga, TN there was Marietta. Founded in mid-1800’s, the city witnessed the Civil War, (was spared by General Sherman), witnessed the country’s transition from agricultural to manufacturing to education and service industries, provided soldiers and materials in two World Wars, and evolved to the vibrant, modern home it is today. While on the Square you can choose from a hand-dipped ice cream and some mouth-watering Barbeque. Or how about a coffee and croissant or some wonderful wines and gourmet cheeses? And the restaurants… oh, my: intimate or family dining with menus that reflect an independent chef-owned dining experience. You can people watch at the Fountain or take one of the many walking or trolley tours. Themes range from architecture, antiques, botanical, history and ghost tours.

Residents of homes in Marietta also have easy access to outdoor concerts here, as well as local and touring performances of Broadway-caliber shows. Monthly exhibits by emerging and established painters add much to the atmosphere. (Start with the monthly First Friday Art Walk!) The Farmer’s markets are to die for! Memorial Day Remembrance, Fourth of July, and Veteran’s Day Parade: events both solemn and fun are scheduled for each of the holidays. Services at the cemeteries commemorate the sacrifices of those who have served. Military re-enactments make our history come alive. Celebrations mark a spectacular Independence Day

Christmas Tree Lighting: come participate in the annual tree lighting with crafts and activities for the whole family.

Harvest Square Arts & Crafts Festival: we all have an artistic side, and this festival provides the outlet to express it. There are goods, foods, and events to satisfy all tastes.
